Another slug of wildfire smoke, this time from the Pacific Northwest, will spread across Illinois today. As opposed to last time, this should largely stay aloft, resulting in a muted appearance of the sun. While still somewhat humid today, drier air will continue to filter into the area on northeast winds, resulting in temperatures dropping into the lower 60s tonight. The next chance of rain will begin Thursday night and continue into the first part of the weekend.
