Thunderstorms will expand north across western Nevada and the eastern Sierra today, reaching the Interstate 80 corridor. Storms are most likely from midday through this evening. Slow-moving storms may produce localized heavy rain and flash flooding, especially near active fires, steep terrain, and poorly drained areas. Lightning may start new fires, while small hail, blowing dust, and outflow gusts of 40–50 mph are possible, with an isolated gust near 55 mph along US-95. Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and never drive through flooded roads.
